Letter to Editor: Michael of Nashville, TN

January 23, 2017

Michael of Nashville, TN writes:

  • I am disappointed by Senator Alexander’s actions this week.  All Americans, deserve to see a real plan that protects quality, affordable health care.
  • “repeal and delay” or “repeal-and-promise” strategies are irresponsible. Claiming that a replacement plan that affects on sixth of our economy and hundreds of millions of people can be crafted, debated, and passed in a matter of hours, days, or weeks is irresponsible
  • What Senator Alexander called for is worse because he called to end the requirement that insurance companies must cover essential health services like emergency services, hospitalization stays, maternity and newborn care, prescription drugs and services to help people struggling with mental health and substance abuse. His proposals also continue to fail to guarantee that all people with pre-existing conditions won’t be charged more or denied the coverage they need.
  • Before Senator Alexander and the Congressional Republicans tear apart our health system, they need to show us a comprehensive plan to protect the health and financial security of our families.

Help Michael get this message heard by adding your voice.

We’re stronger together.
