Grew up in a middle class family and had healthcare. Moved to Nashville in ’06 to pursue music. Got a record contract with Warner and built a successful music career.
Struggled with drug and alcohol addiction problems which led to bad choices and some not so great health problems as a result of those choices.
Got sober in 2015 and was able to get health coverage despite pre existing medical conditions through the Music Health Alliance. Got coverage for $30/mo through the exchange. Also got wellness benefits that included gym membership for free through the YMCA. He is now an active runner, sober, and making healthy lifestyle choices. Feels that was easy, affordable and possible due to the Affordable Care Act.
