Letter to Editor: Molly of Nashville, TN

July 19, 2017

Molly of Nashville, TN writes:

I think most of Americans can agree that to deny people whom may have a pre-existing is unjust and wrong. I am someone whom has private insurance through a reliable institution, but I am also a special educator who has worked with the poor and disabled. I've seen first hand the need for mental health services. I've worked with many families who I couldn't teach until I've dealt with the crisis at hand. Girls who have been raped my family members, moms who didn't have a place to live because they left their abusive partner, or moms who had to be taught how to bath their child or how to care for them. It is imperitive we provide the less fortunate with healthcare and mental health services if not for anyone's sake, but their deserving/helpless children. It's critical we try to empower these families, to try to break the cycle and ensure a more optimistic future.
I am an educated woman. I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a wife, a mother, and infant and toddler developmental specialist/early interventionist. I will continue to fight for the right for everyone to have accessible healthcare, not just the educated and rich. I will continue to show my daughters that everyone deserves a chance at a great future, not just the rich. And, every women deserved to be heard and has a voice.
The ACA is imperative to ensuring the rights of everyone in this country.

Help Molly get this message heard by adding your voice.

We’re stronger together.
