Hello. My name is Sandra. I’m 25 years of age. I could tell you all about myself but I’d rather tell you all about my amazing brother.

  1. Kenneth in my family is known as the miracle child. He was born as a premi. The doctors told my mom that he wouldn’t live through the night. And IF he did he would be deaf dumb and blind. He is so talented in so many ways. About 10 years ago he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. My family and I thought he wouldn’t make it through the night. His diabetes happened because of a stomach flu that spread to his pancreas. When he was admitted into the hospital he had a blood sugar of 884, and was going through neurological failure. My mom was told to call family to say their final goodbyes.  He managed to pull through it! As his older sister, he is my hero. He has this condition that has no cure, and scientist are no closer to finding it. By taking away ACA, I am afraid that I’m going to lose him.

The main reason I’m doing this is for him. Everything I do is for Kenneth. He has always taken great care of his diabetes. He didn’t ask for this, but then again no one asks for it, but he has pulled through. If me, and my entire family pulled every penny that we have to pay for his supplies, we would have enough to pay for a few months. One DKA spike will leave me and my family with nothing. We rather have my brother 6 feet above ground than 6 feet under because ACA was taken away from us
